The Old Lady is one of the people investing on Irving's technological research.
Clara was one of the people who got access to Swapifieds and the Old Lady liked it so she made a hostile take over and became young again.

what doers the real Clara feel when her soul is absorbed?
In scenarios like this, the two would become one person. A blend of both with the dominant one being the dominant personality with elements of the weaker persona.
DeleteAside from that, the weaker persona can re-emerge as a split persona. But usually when absorbed they will give the other person better control of the body and adaptability to memories etc.
